【摘要】:TheparameterKTLdeterminedbythistestmethodisameasureoftheresistanceofapolymermatrixcompositelaminatetonotch-tipdamageandeffectivetranslaminarcrackgrowthunderopeningmodeloading.Theresultisvalidonlyforconditionsinwhichthedamagezoneatthenotchtipissmallcomparedwiththenotchlengthandthein-planespecimendimensions.Thistestmethodcanservethefollowingpurposes.Inresearchanddevelopment,KTLdatacanquantitativelyestablishtheeffectsoffiberandmatrixvariablesandstackingsequenceofthelaminateonthetranslaminarfractureresistanceofcompositelaminates.Inacceptanceandqualitycontrolspecifications,KTLdatacanbeusedtoestablishcriteriaformaterialprocessingandcomponentinspection.Thetranslaminarfracturetoughness,KTL,determinedbythistestmethodmaybeafunctionofthetestingspeedandtemperature.Thistestmethodisintendedforroomtemperatureandquasi-staticconditions,butitcanapplytoothertestconditionsprovidedthattherequirementsof9.2and9.3aremet.ApplicationofKTLinthedesignofservicecomponentsshouldbemadewithawarenessthatthetestparametersspecifiedbythistestmaydifferfromserviceconditions,possiblyresultinginadifferentmaterialresponsethanthatseeninservice.Notalltypesoflaminatedpolymermatrixcompositematerialsexperiencethecontainednotch-tipdamageandeffectivetranslaminarcrackgrowthofconcerninthistestmethod.Forexample,thenotch-tipdamagemaybemoreextensiveandmaynotbeaccompaniedbyanysignificantamountofeffectivetranslaminarcrackgrowth.Typically,lowerstrengthcompositematerialsandthosewithasignificantproportionofreinforcingfibersalignedinadirectionperpendiculartothenotchaxismaynotexperiencethecontainednotch-tipdamagerequiredforavalidtest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftranslaminarfracturetoughness,KTL,forlaminatedandpultrudedpolymermatrixcompositematerialsofvariousplyorientationsusingtestresultsfrommonotonicallyloadednotchedspecimens.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoroomtemperaturelaboratoryairenvironments.1.3Compositematerialsthatcanbetestedbythistestmethodarenotlimitedbythicknessorbytypeofpolymermatrixorfiber,providedthatthespecimensizesandthetestresultsmeettherequirementsofthistestmethod.Thistestmethodwasdevelopedprimarilyfromtestresultsofvariouscarbonfiber-epoxymatrixlaminatesandfromadditionalresultsofglassfiber-epoxymatrix,glassfiber-polyestermatrixpultrusionsandcarbonfiber-bismaleimidematrixlaminates(1-4,6,7).1.4Arangeofeccentricallyloaded,single-edge-notchtension,ESE(T),specimensizeswithproportionalplanardimensionsisprovided,butplanarsizemaybevariableandadjusted,withassociatedchangesintheappliedtestload.Specimenthicknessisavariable,independentofplanarsize.1.5Specimenconfigurationsotherthanthosecontainedinthistestmethodmaybeused,providedthatstressintensitycalibrationsareavailableandthatthetestresultsmeettherequirementsofthistestmethod.Itisparticularlyimportantthattherequirementsdiscussedin5.1and5.4regardingcontainednotch-tipdamagebemetwhenusingalternativespecimenconfigurations.1.6ValuesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityo......
